In 1983, Journey guitarist Neal Schon joined forces with Sammy Hagar to form a new band.  They eventually added bassist Kenny Aaronson and drummer Michael Shrieve.  The quartet called themselves "HSAS" after the band members' last initials.  HSAS performed a handful of shows, including a special MTV broadcast.  They only released one album before going their separate ways.

Now, 30 years later, the band is back (sort of).  Haggar and Schon recently recorded a handful of songs with former Van Halen bassist Michael Anthony and Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith.  Hagar, Anthony, and Smith are three quarters of Chickenfoot (along with guitarist Joe Satriani.

In a video, Hagar proclaims the lineup of himself, Schon, Anthony, and Smith to be the new HSAS.  Although, he recognizes that Chickenfoot could also be a form of HSAS.  "It's interchangeable," Hagar says.
