Blink-182 bassist Mark Hoppus confirmed that the band is currently writing new music, but also said that it will likely be another year before new material is released. Speaking to NME Hoppus said:
"We're going to tour Australia in February with Blink... [so the] proper tour and the new album probably won't happen for about a year."
The shows in Australia are significant because of drummer Travis Barker's fear of flying. It was originally believed that Barker would not join the band for their Australia dates. But, a concert promoter confirmed that Barker would join the band in Australia. Barker has not riden in an airplane since he was involved in a plane crash back in 2008. He played European dates with the band after riding a boat across the Atlantic Ocean.
